Frequently asked questions

Does ClauseLens require an account or subscription?

No. ClauseLens is built to be zero-friction and private. The extension works without any login, account, dashboard, or subscription fee.

Do you collect any document text or data?

No. We strictly do not collect any data. Analysis runs 100% locally in your browser memory. ClauseLens never sends document text, browsing telemetry, or URLs to any remote cloud API or hosted server.

What browsers are supported?

ClauseLens runs on any Chromium-based browser (Google Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge, Arc, Opera) and can be loaded from official store builds.

How does ClauseLens detect terms and policies?

When you browse to a webpage, the extension evaluates document title, heading structures, and legal policy markers client-side. If detected, it offers instant one-click analysis.

How does version change diffing work?

When you visit a legal document you previously analyzed, ClauseLens calculates a content fingerprint locally. If the text has changed, it highlights newly added, modified, or removed clauses.

What should I include in a bug report?

Please provide the public page URL, your browser name and version, expected behavior versus what happened, and any console errors. Never include private or confidential document text.
